An announcement has been released from Dreamworks Animation that the director of The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, Trolls, and Shrek Forever After will direct Kung Fu Panda 4, and the co-director will be Stephanie Ma Stine who directed episodes of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and story artist on How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. The new feature, scheduled to hit theaters on March 8, 2024, and will probably pick up where Netflix’s recent animated series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight left off. Jack Black, who recently returned to voice Po in the Netflix series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, will be back to voice the character for the new film. Po is preparing to be the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace and also training a new warrior, Black said. Po will stand against a new villain called the Chameleon with a power to summon figures from the past. Dreamworks producer Rebecca Huntley will produce the film.
